Hearts Filled With Gratitude

We are so grateful for the many hands that have come together to help create our special day. We would like to extend personal thanks to Dharma Richards, our teacher and friend, for performing our ceremony and guiding us with wisdom and inspiration.

We thank Barbara Mineiro for gracing us with her gift of music as she plays the harp. She also teaches lessons to children and adults if you’re interested in learning more about this beautiful instrument.

We want to thank Chase Brady, our sister-from-another-mother, who has loved us and helped organize us throughout this whole process. We are blessed to share her sisterhood. We also want to send a shout out to our yoga club ladies (& Bonnie) who have collected and cleaned jars, painted matchboxes, and loved us unconditionally over the years. Your friendship means more than you’ll ever know.

Shout out to the Mark & Heather Bryant who will be whisking us away in the getaway car. Our friends who we must have lived many lives together given the ease of our kinship.

Last, we want to thank our sisters, Melissa and Tammy, for standing up for us as we commit our lives and blend our families. And to John, Stacey’s brother, for his help, support and devotion to his sister.

We love you all so very much and cannot wait to C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E!

  • Download the Instagram app on your iphone
  •  Take photos at the event
  • Add #mcgibbs
  • Want to help spread the word that Love is Love? #loveislove, #hrc, #lovewins, #marriageequality

That’s all you have to do! We’ve linked up with Eventstagram so your photos will stream live at the wedding. We know the tweeners will love to take selfies but we hope you share your pics with us too.

Directions & Parking

There is plenty of street parking at Spectre Arts. Once again the address is 1004 Morning Glory, Durham, NC 27701. For those of you familiar with Durham, this is across the street from Golden Belt. You can park on Morning Glory, Belt Street or the grassy area right next to the building.

Directions from Cary: 147 North towards Durham, Exit Right on Fayetteville, Turn Right on Main Street, Turn Left on Morning Glory.  For those coming from other locations, its easy to find with GPS. Look for a small white building with a corrugated aluminum fence. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Your Presence is Our Gift!

gift-boxWe are thrilled to be at such a wonderful place in our lives and to have a home filled with everything we need! Your presence and acceptance of our family is truly the best gift we could ever receive. However, many of you have insisted that we offer a gifting alternative. We discovered this cool website called The Honeyfund which allows you to contribute to our dream honeymoon. Some day soon, as our work and family schedule allow, Stacey and I will journey to a yoga retreat, surfing school, turtle rescue-ish eco-adventure for some much needed rest, relaxation and soul filling fun. You are welcome to contribute to this fund on our personalized Honeyfund page.

Make the Most of Your Time!

bullWe love to explore all the nooks and crannies of this cool city. Here is a quick round-up of some of our favorites:

  • Geer Street Garden for lunch, the pimento cheese sandwich is off the hook.
  • Grab a “Working WoMan’s Latte” at Cocoa Cinnamon.
  • Hankering for some Southern BBQ? Check out The Pit for some yummy tofu (ok, they also have “real meat” for all you omnivores!)
  • Head on over to Full Steam Brewery to taste a pint of local brew.
  • Feeling fancy? Our favorite upscale eatery is Revolution.
  • Don’t miss the chance to check-out a Durham Bulls game on either Friday night or Sunday!
  • Have a sweet tooth? Feed your craving at Daisy Cakes with some yumm-o cupcakes.

Where to Stay in Durham?

downtownSince our celebration will be held in downtown Durham, we are holding a block of rooms at the Marriott. You can book online here. Don’t forget to use the group code W-14 to get the best rate available. Downtown is easy to navigate and you can quickly jump on the Bull City Connector, our free bus service, to get you to and from the ceremony and all around town. Parking is also very convenient and there are lots of inexpensive decks to choose from.

Love is Love.

“In these days of difficulty, we Americans everywhere must and shall choose the path of social justice, the path of faith, the path of hope, and the path of love toward our fellow man.” Franklin D. Roosevelt
